How to Repair the Leaking of Ductile Iron Pipe

Share:

Ductile iron pipes need to add some corresponding spheroidizing agents before casting to make the graphite nodular and reduce stress concentration, so that the pipe has the advantages of high strength, high elongation, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, and good sealing; the inner wall adopts Cement mortar lining, which improves the water delivery environment of the pipeline, increases the water supply capacity, and reduces energy consumption; the nozzle adopts a flexible V interface, and the pipe itself has a larger elongation rate (>10%), which makes the pipeline flexible Better, in buried pipes, the pipe can work together with the soil around the pipe to improve the stress state of the pipe, thereby increasing the reliability of the pipe network. Therefore, the ductile iron pipes commonly used in my country's water supply industry are currently used as the main pipes.

Ductile Iron Pipes

Ductile iron pipes shine in the field of water supply pipelines due to their excellent anti-corrosion and stability. They are often used in underground pre-buried in engineering construction. Below, the ductile iron pipe manufacturer will introduce several water leakage repair methods to you, and hope to help you!

1. If the cast iron pipe socket joint is leaking, you can re-tighten the joint or re-tighten the lead after cooling; if it is the asbestos cement joint, self-stressing cement mortar joint, gypsum cement joint, etc., the joint material can be removed. Re-open the port connection; if the rubber ring is the flexible interface, the rubber ring can be re-calibrated and connected in place if the rubber ring is incorrectly seated or not dense, etc., and the rubber ring needs to be replaced.

2. The cast iron pipe is found to be leaking from the sand hole. Put some lead sheets or fuses at the sand hole and use a ball hammer (fitters' hammer) to hit the sand hole without leaking; if the hole is slightly larger, drill holes at the sand hole to form internal threads, Use wire to plug and screw people for repair; Huff clamp can also be used to plug leakage.

3. Water leakage from cracks in cast iron pipes Before repairing the pipe section, drill holes at both ends of the crack to prevent crack propagation. Rubber plates can be wrapped around the cracks, and steel plate clips can be used for external fixation. When the large cracks that cannot be repaired the leak, the cracked pipe section can be cut off, sleeves are added, and the opening is refilled.

4. If the cast iron pipe section is severely damaged, the entire pipe section must be replaced. When replacing, use a socket connection on one side and a sleeve connection on the other side.
